Social Innovation Advocates (SIA) Event!!!

I will be catering the SIA Olympics Fundraising Event on October 22nd at Maria's Community Bar in Chicago!!  SIA is an organization that I truly believe in...giving people a hand up and not a hand out. Their powerful CEO, David Flynn, has an exciting vision for this organization and I'm thrilled to be a part of it!  Here is some more info on them...

SIA Olymipcs

October 22, 2011McGuane Park / Maria’s Community Bar$250 / team 

On October 22 Social Innovation Advocates (SIA) is hosting its first SIA Olympics. The event will start in the morning with some friendly competition at McGuane Park that combines throwback field day and summer camp activities with a good tailgate party. After gaming, teams will head to Maria’s Community Bar (a 5-minute walk away) for lunch and one round of team trivia to determine the gold medal winners.

 

To add to the festive atmosphere, DJ Mwelwa will be adding his unique sound. Mwelwa Musambacine is influenced by cultures and people across the globe. He is recognized across music circles as one of Chicago’s best international and world music DJs. Mwelwa’s assorted global mix includes reggae, morna, forro, kizomba (semba), salsa, bachata, samba, merengue, afrobeat, ndombolo, rai, jazz, funk, son, soukous, blues, calypso, classical, rock, bhangra, zouk, house, soca, and various types of Arabic, Indian & African varieties. Team registration costs $250 for a team of up to 5. Teams can have no less than 3 players. Lunch will be provided for everyone and all drinks will be $1 off. All proceeds will support the growth of Social Innovation Advocates. Register your team today!

 

Schedule

10:30 am – Team registration

11:00 am – Announcement and kick-off

11:15 am – Games begin

1:00 pm – Games end – go to Maria’s Community Bar           

1:20 pm – Bar trivia

1:30 pm – Entertainment begins

2:00 pm – awards ceremony / presentation
