I will be catering the Surge for Water Fundraising event on October 15th at the Douglas Dawson Gallery in Chicago. It's a fantastic organization that helps bring sustainable, safe water to underdeveloped countries. Here's a little more info...
"SURGE is a U.S. 501(c)3 non profit organization that improves access to clean, safe water for life.
OUR MISSION.
FUND projects that provide access to safe water
ENGAGE, EDUCATE, and EMPOWER communities in which we live
INVEST in innovation that drives sustainable solutions
SURGE 100% PLEDGE.
100% of public donations directly fund sustainable water projects. All administrative costs are covered by our partners, sponsors, private donors, and volunteers.
EDUCATION.
SURGE’s educational and awareness programs reach thousands of people in our community every year. The “Films and Cocktails” series engage our audience in exclusive settings. Our “Just for Kids” initiative partners with local organizations to educate and empower youth; and the program shows how their local action has global impact.
OUR WORLD TODAY.
1 in 6 of us do not have access to safe water
5 in 10 of us live on $1 to $2 a day
9,800 of us die each day as a result of water-borne diseases; most of these victims are children less than 5 years old.
We believe that everyone has the desire and the ability within themselves to do good everyday and everywhere. Our challenge is to tap into this goodness. You are our partners in the call to action."
